Since I am choosing to follow my own desires going forward, we’re listing some cosplay ideas I have for the year. *Quick note: cosplay is jargon for “costume playing,” a blending of words mention for performance art in which fans of movies, books, television shows, comics, etc. dress up as their favorite characters. It is relatively common at conventions such as Comic Con.*
- Real Vampire Seras Victoria, “Hellsing Ultimate”
- Sir Integra Fairbrooks Wingates Hellsing, “Hellsing Ultimate”
- Anarchy Stocking (angel version), “Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt” (Season 1)
- Niffty, “Hazbin Hotel”
- Kogami Akira, “Lucky Star”
- Sango, “Inuyasha”
- Albedo, “Overlord”
- Nikaido Saki, “Zombieland Saga”
- Queen Serenity, “Sailor Moon”
- Poison Ivy, DC Comics (Undecided version at this time)
- Eris, “The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy”
- Edalyn Clawthorne, “The Owl House”
- Genkai, “Yu Yu Hakusho”
Obviously, Eda and Genkai are cosplay ideas for my later years because older women should still have fun. I have already completed the following:
- Sailor Moon, “Sailor Moon” (Halloween 2000)
- Ms. Frizzle, “The Magic School Bus” (Chattanooga Comic Con 2022)
- Persephone, “Lore Olympus” (Chattanooga Comic Con 2023)
- Quetzalcoatl Lucoa, “Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid” (Chattanooga Comic Con 2024)
- Servant Vampire Seras Victoria, “Hellsing Ultimate” (Chattanooga Comic Con 2025)
“Pics or it didn’t happen”? First of all, my Sailor Moon was a minor, and secondly, I fashion the Terms of Service in this realm! Access is a privilege, not a right. Insert gratuitous emoticons and emojis here. We have several conventions coming back to the area this year, so time will tell if I can manage my figure and budget in time for each of these events. The more risque cosplays are highly contingent on the political environment as well — even if I do manage to get the figure I want for Anarchy Stocking, Albedo, Eris, and Poison Ivy, I might feel less safe in public. Ah, but isn’t that what “Scary Dog Privilege” is for?
