Pluto TV has gifted this Sailor Moon otaku (Japanese for obsessed anime fan) an entire channel devoted to the series that brought me to the land of fan art, fan fiction, content curation, and web design. Of course, we’ve had to relive some classic moments by binging several episodes here and there, but both censorship and memory have obscured certain scenes. Enter episode 104, the 15th episode of Sailor Moon S. Our precious Chibiusa has returned from the future to train with Sailor Moon and the gang, but her mother gave her very important instructions — learn how to make friends! And this is where things get… interesting!
We see Chibiusa out in the park where a young boy is playing. She seems hopeful — could he be friendship material? That was when the scamp approaches her, proceeding to irritate her sensibilities. When he realizes none of his tactics are working to his satisfaction, he unveils his ultimate weapon — dropping his pants and underwear off camera and loudly proclaiming “I am an elephant!” Horrified, Chibiusa appears permanently scarred for life as the young boy’s mother scolds him and drags the boy away. At this point in time, we lost all composure, nearly falling to the floor with laughter. Had we simply forgotten this clip? Was it censored? As it turns out, the scene was indeed censored. In the dub, he exclaims he had Sailor Moon underwear.
