#ThankfulThursday Spring Forward

Perhaps this opinion is unpopular, but moving the clocks forward in anticipation of later sunsets always suited me better. Longer days filled with sunshine, warmth, and flowers lifts my spirit after long, cold nights and bare branches. The pale yellowish green hue budding leaves take on before darkening in the sun truly encapsulates the idea of “spring green” to me — it isn’t just a random crayon in the box because the name is just so appropriate! Summer cookouts with ripe watermelon are great; autumn leaves and crisp apples have their place. Even the twinkling lights on a chilly night can be enjoyable — but nothing compares to the world returning to life, the birds flittering about for nesting materials, and the daylight!
