#ThankfulThursday Open Enrollment

This week, open enrollment began for basically everyone across the nation. The main concern I had when leaving behind my retail job in April was my employer provided health insurance. Although my summer contract allowed me the leeway to get Medicaid for the interim, my fall contracts nullified such coverage. Now that open enrollment is here, I’m able to see what sort of plans are available through the marketplace — and apparently there are tax credits that make coverage much more affordable than I originally anticipated. Given that I’m only an adjunct professor, this news offers me peace of mind because healthcare isn’t cheap. I’m so thankful coverage is much more affordable than in years passed, and I certainly hope it stays this way. No one should suffer just because they’re sick or have health conditions.
