#MondayMemories Climbing Trees

The apartment complex had decorative trees strategically landscaped around the premises, and my neighbor and I loved climbing one particularly low tree to sit, gossip, and relax after school each day. Though I never learned the name of these trees or can’t remember what they looked like enough to discover such, this tree truly held our friendship and our young minds. We’d sometimes use this tree to climb over the wall to the shopping center and fetch random groceries our mothers had forgotten. We giggled about a boy I went to high school with who ran the cash register at Publix, hiding my crush on him as best I could. But no matter what, those branches always felt like a piece of heaven.
