#TutoringTuesday Peer Reviews

Want to know a good way to improve your writing skills? Start by reviewing your peers’ papers! Believe it or not, finding errors in someone else’s work teaches your mind to catch those errors in your own writing. I recommend consulting with other students in class when working on papers if your professor does not already incorporate peer revision in their lesson plans. In my classes, I encourage students to partner up for workshopping purposes, but I also require students to complete peer reviews for credit. Not only do my students learn how to catch errors, but they also learn how to do so respectfully. Even in the workplace, peer reviewing can help improve everyone’s overall quality of work!
