Back in tenth grade, I remember watching cartoons after school, and Cartoon Network ran their Toonami block weekday afternoons. My sister and I were sitting down watching “Sailor Moon,” which seemed odd to me at first. However, I sat down at a very opportune moment. The girls were sitting around a table set with tea and cookies at Rei’s shrine, and Usagi picked up a cookie with excitement in her eyes. Suddenly, her well-drawn face became a Pac-Man style head as she hungrily chomped the cookie. I immediately began laughing, as did my aunt who happened to catch the spectacle herself. Thus began my admiration for both Sailor Moon and anime in general.
