#MondayMemories Young Love

When we first moved to Northwest Georgia, my son meant a sweet little girl who lived two houses away from us. She was about a year and a half older, but my son thought she was beautiful, smart, and kind. She treated him respectfully and always made him feel included when they played outside with the other children. Although they never did end up dating, I always remember how sweet she was and how enchanted my son was with her.

Sadly, this sweet young lady has suffered many tragedies during her short life. Her mother passed away due to breast cancer several years ago, and most recently her fiancee was involved in a fatal car wreck that took the lives of his best friend and his younger brother. That young man has been suffering from injuries, but he and this sweet young lady were working through it all. She was carrying his unborn son, absolutely excited to be sharing such a treasure with her fiancee and relieved that her baby boy would be able to meet his father.

Unfortunately, the final tragedy struck last weekend. This sweet, precious young life was snuffed out in another fatal car wreck — which also claimed her unborn baby’s life as well. Life is too short for some, and we must cherish every moment we have.
