Last week I spent time preparing for the GRE, completing training to pick up an online course, and spending time with my little family. Obviously, the blog schedule went to the wayside, but holidays deserve some rest and relaxation anyway. I imagine the week or so surrounding Christmas and New Year’s may be slim around here as well, but I’m also a firm believer in creating meaningful content when inspiration strikes. Forced content sometimes falls flat.
This week’s plans include completing my PhD application to the University of Virginia, attending my first faculty holiday party, and watching our local Christmas parade. My unofficial GRE scores fill me with confidence ahead of my nine approaching deadlines. I won’t know details about my writing scores for a few more days, but I’m pleased with the two six paragraph essays I had to complete in less than an hour. The prompts offered plenty of material to stretch each essay into six paragraphs. The faculty holiday party is tomorrow, and I’m excited to mingle with the department that gave my career its start. Then Friday evening, we’ll head out to see the Christmas parade.
May this Monday bring you plenty of motivation to accomplish all your goals!
